April Update!
Issue 3 of The Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre hits stores April 22
Thanks to everyone who picked up the first two issues of the Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre. Both the Reprint of issue one and issue two sold out very quickly last month. I’m thrilled with the reaction and peoples enthusiasm for the book.
Issue 3 of the Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre hits stores April 22! Be sure to hit up your local comic book store in advance to save you a copy to ensure you don’t miss out.
Tiffany took advantage of my very generous offer to draw whatever you want for $50, by getting me to draw this portrait of her.
Check out a these other examples of drawings I’ve done for people recently.
The Digitally coloured version vs the original artwork I mail folks who ordered.
Contact me through my email jamesedwardclark@gmail.com to ask about getting your own $50 commission!
As always, I’ve been keeping up with my life drawing. these are from some recent sessions over the last few weeks.
As I mentioned in my last update, I attended the Toronto Comic Con last month and was fortunate enough to sit next to my old friend Adam Gorham. Adam was good enough to do a quick sketch of Miquel Senecoza from the Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre on the covering of his table, which I cut out and ended up colouring when I got home as a quick impromptu collaboration between the two of us.
Adam is the new artist on the HULK from Marvel. His first issue on the series hits stores the same day as issue 3 of the Florida Hippopotamus Cocaine Massacre, April 22!. Be sure to grab a copy of that when you got to the comic book store to pick up FHCM!
Lastly, I might be jumping the gun posting this, but this is why you follow my Substack, to get the special JEC news you can’t find anywhere else!
I was asked to draw my first ever variant cover for James Tynion IV’s series W0rldTr33!
Had a lot of fun putting it together. I’ll have more news on when and how you can get yourself a copy of it in future updates, so be on the lookout for that.
Hoping to get back in the swing of posting more often than once a month like I have been, but I’ve been swamped with doing commissions and work for people, which is a nice problem to have. I have lots more recent material I’ve produce so shouldn’t be too long before another update.
Thank you very much for reading.
James.

Congratulations James!
I knew I'd see your name on an image book.
What does the future hold for JEC???
