Thanks for sharing that with us. You did a good job of adapting Dick's short story to the comic medium. I wonder if you would consider adapting some other Dick stories, like The Father Thing, or The Hanging Stranger.
I like that you gave a nod to Galactic Pot Healer in your recommendations. This book has grown in my estimation over the years. I like it more now than I did when I first read in back in the 70's.
Thank you very much. I thought of adapting more. A PKD + JEC collection in one volume would be fun. I’d have to get it cleared though. I think his kids control his properties through a company called “Electric Shepard” so I’d have to get their approval. I’m afraid of them finding our I did this bootleg adaptation of Electric Ant already though.
I was thinking maybe doing “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale.” or doing “the Preserving Machine” in the style of a Children’s story book.
I didn’t really know what to make of Pot Healer the first time I read it either. But it’s stuck with me a lot more then a lot of his second tier books have over the years. I think of it now as a pretty good social satire.
I like the ending where he tries to make a pot and his first attempt turns out terrible, just like the failed society they just tried to make turned out.
